The Lake Sandoval Adventure 2 days tour immerses you in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon for a genuine nature experience. First, you’ll journey from Puerto Maldonado down the Madre de Dios River to the protected Lake Sandoval reserve. Then, you’ll hike rainforest trails and take a canoe ride across the lake, where it’s possible to spot giant river otters, black caimans, tropical birds, and monkeys. Afterward, you’ll spend the night in an eco-lodge, surrounded by jungle sounds. Finally, at sunrise you’ll witness the Amazon awakening before heading back. Thus, this tour blends adventure, biodiversity, and tranquility — perfect for travelers seeking a deep nature connection.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
It involves visiting the Tambopata rainforest. We will travel approximately 40 minutes to be in contact with nature and have the opportunity to observe different types of animals.
- 8:00 pm: We will take a night walk around our lodging to observe nocturnal animals.
- 10:00 am: We will visit Lake Sandoval. Here, we will walk approximately 1 hour along trails in search of diurnal animals until we reach the lake, where we will take a small boat ride to search for giant otters. We will have lunch by the lake, rest for a while, and then return to our lodging.
Day 2:

- Kayak
- 5:00 pm: Return to the city.
